Gaudium Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Gaudium, a private members’ club for those who live, travel and celebrate life beyond the ordinary. By applying for, accepting, or renewing a Gaudium membership, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Membership Eligibility

  • Membership is open by invitation or approval only and is available exclusively to individuals aged 40 years and over.
  • Gaudium reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.
  • Members must provide accurate and current information during registration and keep their details up to date.

2. Membership Types & Fees

  • Membership categories (e.g. Local, Overseas, Founding) and annual fees are listed on the Gaudium website or in official communications.
  • Membership fees are non-refundable once approved, except where otherwise required by law.
  • Gaudium may adjust membership fees with reasonable notice prior to renewal.

3. Membership Approval & Renewal

  • All applications are subject to review and approval by the Gaudium membership committee.
  • Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of acceptance.
  • Renewal invitations are issued annually and subject to review of continued engagement and adherence to club values.

4. Member Conduct

  • Members are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy, respect and discretion at all Gaudium events, both in person and online.
  • Any form of discrimination, harassment, or behaviour deemed inappropriate may result in suspension or termination of membership.
  • Members represent Gaudium’s community ethos of inclusion, curiosity and joy — and must not act in a way that damages the club’s reputation.

5. Events & Experiences

  • Attendance at Gaudium events may require separate booking and payment, depending on the nature of the event or experience.
  • Event details, prices and itineraries are subject to change.
  • By attending any Gaudium event or trip, members acknowledge participation is at their own risk and agree to comply with any safety or health guidance provided.
  • Gaudium is not liable for loss, damage or injury sustained during attendance, travel or participation, except where caused by negligence.

6. Privacy & Communications

  • Member information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is never shared without consent.
  • By joining Gaudium, members consent to receiving relevant communications about events, benefits, and news.
  • Members can update communication preferences at any time via email or the membership portal.

7. Cancellation & Termination

  • Members may cancel their membership at any time by written notice; no refunds will be issued for remaining months.
  • Gaudium may suspend or terminate membership for breach of these Terms or conduct inconsistent with club values.
  • Terminated members may reapply only at the discretion of the committee.

8. Liability

  • Gaudium and its partners shall not be held responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of membership services or participation in events.
  • Members are encouraged to arrange appropriate travel and personal insurance for events involving travel or physical activity.

9. Amendments

  • Gaudium reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
  • The most recent version will always be published on the official website, and continued membership constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
